Role & Record documents the professional lives of people whose work is a matter of record: what they do now, what they have done before, and what they are accountable for. The publication treats a career as a subject worth reporting carefully — not as a credential to be advertised.
What the publication covers
We publish profiles of established professionals across six sections: business, finance, law, healthcare, technology and advisory practice. The people documented here are executives, founders, attorneys, physicians, accountants, investors, advisers and consultants — professionals whose work has a public dimension and a verifiable record behind it.
Alongside the profiles we publish features: longer pieces reporting on how a practice is structured, what a leadership role actually consists of, or the decision that shaped a career. A profile states the record. A feature explains it.
How a profile is written
Profiles are compiled by the editorial desk from material supplied by the subject and from public professional records — firm biographies, registry entries, filings, published work. Subjects are given the opportunity to check the factual content of a profile before it is published. They do not have approval over the editorial judgement in it.
Where a fact cannot be established to the desk’s satisfaction, it is left out. A profile that omits something is preferable to one that asserts it without a basis.
What the publication is not
Role & Record is not a directory anyone can join, and inclusion is not for sale. The desk decides who is profiled, on editorial grounds. Subjects cannot commission their own profile, pay for placement, or dictate what a profile says.
